Beautiful! To see the beauty after the horror - life is what you make of it, take control and refuse to let "them" control you anymore! Sometimes it's too easy to get wrapped up in the pain, the "why me" - thank you for reminding us that there's much more than that.

Thank-you so much for allowing me to view these remarkable survivors. Just seeing the look in their eyes and smiling faces tells me the empowerment they've gained. It is so good to see Mark in there to because so many of us think sexual assault only happens to women and that woman have a hate for men. When all any oif us are looking for is to be accepted as we are and sharing our compassions and journey with someone we love. So many have come to say many deserve assault by the way we dress or by our flirtatious personalities but little do they know nobody has the right to invade our bodies or judge our character. It isn't until one is touched by assault that they will totally understand it. We are human beings who love and even though we have gone thru sexual assault we gain more compassion for those not afflicted because they need to know who we truly are. Thank you again.

I am still breathing slowly and taking it all in. What intense emotions this show has stirred for me. Even the photos without text speak so clearly and powerfully from the heart, with hope, life, and peace. What beauty collected here, and what strong spirits celebrated. Thank you, Catherine, and all of you, for these gorgeous, honest images. I know that I'll carry your strengths with me, to call on as I support my daughter's continued healing.

I truly enjoyed your website and the images you captured were remarkable. I really liked the image of Gloria under the sprinkler, it shows me you can be free and enjoy the things that were taking from us as children and the image of Christa with the little girl (I assume her daughter) was wonderful, it shows such love and compassion.

The journey is rough but because of it, I too can smile now.

These faces are so beautiful, why do we think ourselves
otherwise? My own abuse led me to the path of
self hate. A painful, fearful and lonely place,
but these people seem so shiny. Wonderful photos!

Dear Catherine and Tacita-
Catherine, thank you for letting me be a part of this project. Tacita, thank you for your talents in bringing it to an even greater audience- and for loving my awesome friend Catherine so! :) It's been an INTENSE three years since my friendship with you started, C- it's amazing to see you so settled, happy, and finally being treated with the amazing grace that you deserve.
This project has always been an amazing thing. But to flip through the images here is all the more incredible. I checked it again today as I wanted to send the link to some friends....I'm at work....and I just started to cry. Hard.
Thank you. All the love in the world...
...Raquel

Each time I see these photographs, I am overwhelmed with a sense of visibility. I'm so happy that they are now accessible to more people - that even more folks will be able to *see*. Thank you Catherine, for your courage, activism, support, talent, and patience. And thank you to the other survivors here, and not here.
